VITALI DENTAL CHAIRS: A COMBINATION OF CRAFTSMANSHIP AND INNOVATION
The VITALI headquarters are in Bologna, in the heart of the Italian dental chair district. The culture developed by the company over no less than seventy years combines craftsmanship skills, professional experience, industrial culture and propensity to innovation. All of which are 100% Italian. Thousands of dentists, in Europe and all over the world, have chosen our dental chairs. In a market populated by increasingly global manufacturers, our customers represent a niche of users who are particularly attentive to reliability, the real value of dental chairs and the possibility of obtaining their complete customisation. Indeed, these features are typical of a high-quality industrial craft product.
THE COMPONENTS OF A VITALI DENTAL CHAIR
The VITALI dental chair is basically composed of 6 elements:
- chair: its function is essential because this is where the patient lies throughout treatment. Seat, backrest and headrest are adjustable to facilitate the work of the dental team and ensure patient comfort;
- dentist-side element: it contains all dental instruments (turbine, classic or brushless or surgical micromotor, scaler, intra-oral camera, air/water syringe, etc.) and the electronic keyboard for all dental chair controls;
- nurse’s console: it houses the cannula for surgical suction and any additional instruments;
- operating lamp: it is an essential element as it illuminates the surgical field with cold white LED operating lights, suitable for all dental treatments;
- foot control: it operates the instruments, chair movement, cuspidor functions and operating lamp controls. Available in the wireless version;
- cuspidor: in addition to the basin for patient rinsing, it can contain devices for separating dental amalgam, surgical suction and more.
WHAT IS THE DENTAL CHAIR
The dental chair is the treatment centre that enables the dentist to appropriately treat his patients and, as such, is the central element of any dental practice. It is thanks to its efficiency that operators can work to the best of their ability.
Nowadays, dentistry is subdivided into several branches and dentists, just like doctors, are specialists who mainly perform the activities in which they have acquired the most expertise. Choosing a dental chair depends on what type of dentistry is practised, the style of one’s work, whether or not a dentist relies on a nurse close by, whether the dentist is right-handed or left-handed. The ideal dental chair is one that is carefree: its functionality, ergonomics, size and ease of handling should allow the dentist to work fully concentrated: feeling relaxed, without obstacles, always being able to count on reliable, friendly, faithful equipment.
HOW TO CLEAN A DENTAL CHAIR
Dental chair disinfection and sanitisation have always been of paramount importance, even more so after the health emergency caused by the COVID pandemic. Since the issue is rather complex and articulated, we have created a cleaning vademecum to provide correct and exhaustive information that can be used for the management of all VITALI dental chairs.
To make it easier to consult, the vademecum includes a menu of symbols indicating, in a very intuitive way, when to carry out each cleaning and maintenance operation. Dental chair management is divided into 8 sections – suction, spittoon, instruments, external surfaces, operating lamps, monitor, water circuit of the instruments, glass-spittoon water circuit – each of which provides precise and detailed instructions, accompanied by very clear illustrations. It is essential to follow these instructions, as the risks of bacterial and viral contamination can only be avoided by serious and constant prevention.

HOW TO PLACE THE DENTAL CHAIR
There are some good rules that should be followed when designing a new dental practice or renovating it. The following aspects should be borne in mind:
- size: the practice should not be smaller than 11/12 sq.m;
- light from outside: if possible, the dental chair should be placed in front of or to the side of the light source. Most importantly, external light should not interfere with the dentist’s view;
- furniture: furniture should preferably be placed behind the chair. When entering the room, the patient should be able to access the dental chair as directly as possible, with no obstacles to overcome or go around;
- connections: if the dental practice is new, it is advisable to lay them under the floor to avoid external cables, pipes or ducts;
- engine room: it is advisable to set up a dedicated room in which to place the compressor and suction pump, both of which are necessary to operate the dental chair.
